What You Need to Know Before Staying at Lucy's House
Because Lucy's House is such a unique building and experience, there are a few rules specific to Lucy's House and other historic buildings in Downtown Historic Hudson's wooden section. Please note the following before booking to make sure that Lucy's House is a good fit for you.
What is NOT Allowed at Lucy's House?
Infants and Toddlers
Lucy's House is unfortunately not designed to accommodate infants or small children at this time due to open/unprotected stairwells and antique furnishings. Let us know your situation, as circumstances vary based on your particular needs. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
Cooking/Candles
Due to the historic nature of Lucy's House, any kind of fire is strictly prohibited. No fireplace use, lit candles, incense, or cooking is allowed at any time. However, a multitude of snacks, microwaves, and mini fridges are provided for guests in our service areas. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the charming downtown dining and shopping district just steps away from Lucy's House front door.
Pets
Pets are also not allowed on the premises of Lucy's House, with the exception of a certified service animal (documentation must be available upon request). The lower level King Guest Suite ('The Peacock Room') is our only option to accommodate your beloved certified service pet.
Smoking, Vaping, and Controlled Substances
Smoking, vaping, and other controlled substances are prohibited both inside and outside the building, including near front and back entrances and in the courtyards. Please help in keeping our Historic Hudson Wooden Section fire safe at all times.
Eco-Friendly Charm & History
​Lucy's House is not only an organization dedicated to preserving the history of Hudson, Ohio, but also one that is conscientious of helping our environment. All linens and towels at Lucy's House are 100% organic cotton and washed using Clean People detergent, which is made with biodegradable packaging and plant-based, sustainable ingredients. The bedding is also completely cotton to provide an environmentally mindful yet comfortable sleep experience. Lucy's House also has comfort level toilets in all bathrooms, only stocked with guilt-free ecoHiny Premium Bamboo toilet paper, meaning you save at least 1 tree per year with this product and help preserve Historic Main Street's sewage system and pipes. Lucy's House bathrooms also provide organic and eco-friendly products and soaps. In Lucy's House bathrooms, also look for grab bars near toilets and showers to help contribute to a safe, worry-free environment for all abilities and ages. Cleanliness is our utmost priority and all professionally cleaned before each guest's arrival. We make every effort to use environmentally friendly cleaning products. Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water is provided for guests as well to support a sustainable Certified Carbon Neutral Supply Chain and their efforts to clean up our oceans.
